Design Situation
We are living in a time where videos are all around us. We use Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Snapchat, Netflix, TV and go to the movies. Videos provide people with entertainment, they inform us about things we never knew about, they allow us to escape, they make us laugh, they help us learn new skills, they teach us, they provoke emotions and they WOW us.
Videos provide access for people with a range of abilities because we can watch or listen or read subtitles with subtitles.
Design Brief
Your task is to design and create a video in one of the following categories:
You are required to follow the design process when creating your video. You need to incorporate a range of multimedia techniques in your video. Your video can be based on videography (real life filming on a camera) or it can also feature animation.
Your video must demonstrate a range of videography techniques such as:
You will be required to submit a portfolio with your design process. You will find a template for your portfolio provided by your teacher on Google Classroom. You MUST customise this, not submit what you have been given. Insert all of your own work, change the colours, layout, fonts, pages, etc. Your portfolio will include:
PLEASE BE AWARE THAT WE WILL GO THROUGH ALL THESE STEPS TOGETHER AS A CLASS.
Your film should be approximately 1-2 minutes in duration, however if you include animation, it takes so much longer to achieve a long video so it would be more like 20-30 seconds.
BE AWARE - You ARE allowed to film outside of class but you MUST make proof of your filming and editing work. This is to ensure that someone else doesn't do the work for you, it MUST be YOU behind the camera filming and on the computer editing. This ensures the project is FAIR for everyone. If you fail to provide evidence of your 'Record of Production' you will NOT be awarded any marks. That means a ZERO!

Purpose
Consider the PURPOSE of your film. Will it aim to entertain, inform, instruct, inspire or something else? How should it impact on the viewers? Consider how you want someone to FEEL, what you want them KNOW or what you want them to DO after watching your film. Write your answers to these questions when you make a brainstorm as below.
