Moodboard
Create a mood board using Adobe Photoshop.
This mood board should give insight into the theme, concept, lighting, colour grading, illustration style, camera angles, etc. and any other relevant details. You must annotate each image you include to explain why you have included the image and how you might incorporate the inspiration into your own project. |

Research
Conduct and document a wide range of research and relate your investigations to the design and development of your project.
This section should be quite extensive, but all information must be relevant and directly related to your project.
All research must be analysed and evaluated. Explain how your findings could be incorporated into your project.
You will conduct research under the following sections:

All research must be analysed and evaluated. Explain how your findings could be incorporated into your project.
You will conduct research under the following sections:
- Materials; types of media, media libraries (e.g.purple planet), ALL file types relevant to your project (image file types- PNG, JPEG etc. but also the difference between vector and bitmap, video file types), file types, media formats and codes (eg explore the differences between a PNG and GIF),
- Resources; tutorials(Youtube, CodeAcademy, W3Schools), websites, opinions, forums, industry experts, templates,
- Processes; workflow procedures and software techniques, IT processes, film making processes(pre-production, production, post-production), processes within 2D and 3D animation, green screening, web development (template, creating from scratch, HTML vs Javascript, CSS), logo creation (vector vs bitmap), incremental saving, legal processes, copyright, roles of industry personnel (animator, film maker, web designer)
- Technologies; devices used for processing, storage, imaging, audio, input/capture, communication and output software applications. Devices, storage options (USB, google drive), software (options for film editing, logo creation, portfolio creation, web development, word processing, spreadsheet creation), hardware (cameras, tripod, lighting),
- Existing Designs; qualities, genres, techniques, styles, websites, logo’s, TV advertisement, concepts
- Outsourcing of processes
- Target Market- who is your target market?? How does this impact your design??
In your research you could:
- Outline the research methods you will use and identify sources of information
- Identify a number of existing multimedia publications that address similar content, genre, styles, techniques to your project and that have influenced your direction and design
- Conduct some ‘market’ research to ‘test’ your project ideas or styles with members of your target audience
- Identify media resources that are available and may be incorporated into your project
- Investigate a range of possible techniques
- Conduct experiments and record a summary of your findings
- Identify equipment (hardware) and software tools, and outline production processes that you may use to create your project.
Selection & Justification
This section follows on from your research. It should be quite extensive, but all information must be relevant and directly related to your project.
